Privacy Policy
In One Sentence
YaoGua collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics or advertising SDKs.
What We Collect
Nothing. The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, birth details, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access, and it does not create a device identifier for tracking.
The app requests no system permissions and contains no third-party tracking technology.
What Is Stored on Your Device
Some information is saved locally so the app can work the way you expect:
- questions you type before a casting, and the hexagram results;
- notes you write on a reading, and readings you save to your archive;
- daily entries you bookmark;
- profile names and notes you create for keeping different reading contexts apart;
- learning progress, bookmarks and practice scores from the Learn section;
- a record that you have accepted the in-app disclaimer.
All of this is written to the app's local storage on your device. It never leaves the device, and it is not readable by us or by any third party.
How to Delete Your Data
There are two ways to remove everything:
- Open Settings → Erase All Local Data inside the app to delete all readings, notes, bookmarks, profiles and learning records at once;
- or uninstall the app, which removes its local storage along with it.
Deletion cannot be undone. Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot restore it after deletion.
Network & Third Parties
The casting algorithm runs entirely on your device. Results come from the device's own randomness and do not depend on a server. The app bundles no third-party analytics, advertising, social or crash-reporting SDK, performs no cross-app tracking and does not use the Advertising Identifier.
The only time the app opens a network connection is when you explicitly tap "View Online Privacy Policy" in Settings, which displays this page in an in-app browser. No personal data, reading content or device identifier is sent with that request.
Nature of the Content
YaoGua is a cultural and educational reference to the I Ching (Book of Changes), a classical Chinese text. The app does not predict health, wealth, relationships or life outcomes, and it does not provide medical, psychological, financial, investment or legal advice. Every reading screen carries a reference-only note, and a disclaimer is shown before the first reading.
Children
The app offers cultural content for a general audience. It is not directed at children and does not collect age information or any other personal data from anyone.
Your Rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, export or delete. You remain in full control of the copy on your device through the deletion steps described above.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially — for example, if a future version introduces an optional online feature — we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and note the change in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
